When you go inward, your self feels seen. When you honor your story, your origins, the here and now starts to make more sense. As a psychotherapist, I am deeply invested in seeing, hearing, and connecting with you and your unique lived experience. I believe that humans carry an innate ability to heal and I trust in your ability to connect with that part of your self.
When we are clear about what we are striving toward, and the barriers that are in our way, we can get focused on creating expansive and sustainable solutions for healthy living. I value therapy as an opportunity to collaborate as the foundation for healing and growth. Welcoming and integrating all parts of each individual is my guiding principle. I help individuals understand the impacts of trauma, loss, and discouragement to help you explore insight and integrate greater self-awareness and self-empowerment.
My approach to counseling is relational focused, attachment-aware, and trauma-informed. I believe the most powerful tool we have in the therapy space is our relationship. I support individuals in understanding the origins of how they orient in the world and within their relational systems. I am trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), an evidence based modality that uses eye movements to help decrease intense feelings, emotions, and sensations associated with traumatic events. Thos somatic-based modality is often a helpful compliment to cognitive-based talk therapy and helps to deepen the therapeutic process.
A mother's health and wellbeing has impact and ripples on the community and world at large. Whether you are thinking about embarking on the journey of parenthood, are currently pregnant, or already have kiddos, I can support your maternal health. I have competence in supporting perinatal loss and grief, fertility implications, and supporting the identity integration of parenthood.
I welcome working with all birthing persons and am always striving to embody multicultural awareness, humility, and compassion. My work as a mental health therapist is rooted in anti-racism, anti-ableism, LGBTQIA+ affirmative, and I support deconstructing the effects of colonialism, capitalism, and individualism.
Movement, nutrition, and creativity are essential parts of maintaining optimal health and wellbeing. When practiced mindfully and consistently, these positive coping strategies act like a balm that soothes life's inevitable challenges. I enjoy incorporating awareness and implementation of these practices into counseling sessions as appropriate and desired by the client.
If you are interested in working together, the best way to connect is by sending me an email.
